It's a Carolina Thing

For more than a hundred years, folks have been coming to these mountains to get away from the summer heat, to savor the soft breezes, to enjoy a lemonade on that quintessential old-fashioned structure, the porch.

Our porches are unequalled. Some are expansive verandas, some cozy places for a quiet talk.

You'll usually find your innkeepers on the porch at social hour. Leaf-lookers love them in the autumn; and in the spring you can look at the lovely gardens from them.

Some of our inns even serve breakfast on their porches in good weather.

Dream your cares away on our porches.
