The 1900 Inn on Montford invites you to be our guest and discover AAA Four Diamond bed and breakfast comfort and hospitality with a warmth and graciousness that is reminiscent of Biltmore's Gilded Age. The inn has been lovingly and thoughtfully restored to create the inviting ambience of past splendor and elegance.
The Inn is located in the very heart of the Montford Historic District. It exemplifies the Arts and Crafts style made popular in Asheville by noted society architect, Richard Sharp Smith, supervising Architect to Biltmore House. Illustrated in his publication of 1901, My Sketchbook, the house is considered to be one of his finest residential commissions. Today it is elegantly furnished with English and American antiques dating from 1730 to 1910.
The Inn has four large guestrooms and a five-room 1,000 sq. ft secluded third floor suite, Zelda's Retreat. Each guestroom/suite has a fireplace and private bath and shower, four have a whirlpool bath - the O.Henry room has a clawfoot tub with a shower above.
Griffin Cottage, our new carriage house to the rear of the property, contains two suites, the Rossetti and the Cloisters and a guest room, the William Morris. All have separate entrances and enclosed gardens, King beds, shiatsu-massage whirlpools, multi-jet showers, steam baths, and full "Butler's Station" with refrigerator, convection-microwave, and coffee/tea maker.
Pets and children are welcomed in the carriage house!
All rooms have wireless and wired LAN connections for high speed Internet access, making them ideal for the business traveler, or for those who need to keep in touch!
